PORTUGUESE GUITAR POCKET KNIFE

Description

Pocket knife, shaped like the traditional Portuguese Guitar.

Known for its unique sound, the Portuguese Guitar, also called "Fado Guitar", is a 6-string chordophone with pear-shaped harmonic case.

The origins of the Portuguese Guitar date back to the Middle Ages, to an instrument called the citole. It has evolved over time, passing through the zither, becoming the Portuguese Guitar. It was a regular instrument in the halls of the upper bourgeoisie, later beoming a musical instrument of the people.

With different characteristics of sound, shape and tradition of manufacture, there are three types of Portuguese Guitar: Lisbon, Coimbra and Porto.

The sad sound of the Guitar is charateristic of the feeling that surrounds Fado, and there is a strong connection between the two.

The Portuguese pocket knife is a must have for all pocket knife collectors and lovers!
