Contour

The contour, as a design element, plays a central role in the context
of the Bauhaus. The pursuit of the synthesis of art, craftsmanship and
technology, and the emphasis on clear lines and geometric forms
shaped the design principles.

The contour, as the outer outline of an object or form, was used in the
Bauhaus as a means of reduction and abstraction. Artists and
artists and designers at the Bauhaus strove for functional and aesthetically pleasing
solutions, and the clear delineation of forms through contours made it possible to
precise definition of structures.
