Katana Saya Kitchen Knives

Katana Saya Kitchen Knives

Description

Katana Saya is the universal knife brand of our times, encompassing the very best of our different cultures and traditions.

The Katana was the prized sword of the Samurai with its extra sharp blade fashioned from folded Damascus Steel. The blades of our knives are similarly crafted from Japanese VG-10 Damascus Steel.

The Katana was always protected inside a Sheath or Saya. We believe our knives are equally precious and deserve the same level of protection, however here we give you a choice!

For Japanese traditionalists, we present the traditional Japanese style knives with traditional Wooden Saya, to match the knife handles.

For those of a more Westernised nature we have adapted the series to represent all the popular Western-style blades and provided a more modern and practical storage solution with a real leather sheath.

The handles of our Katana Saya knives offer a further choice. Below are our different ranges:

Katana Saya Pakkawwod – Deep black elegant Pakkawood handles that give a safe grip and perfect balance.

Katana Saya Olivewood - Beautiful light olivewood handles in the traditional chestnut shape.

Katana Elements – Offered in 3 colour tones, Ocean, Rainforest or Volcanic. The handles consist of a blend of olive wood fused with vibrant translucent resins.

Katana Pearl – Feature a stunning iridescent abalone effect handle.

Katana Tiger – Offer a striking tiger print design to bring a touch of the wild into your kitchen.

New to the Grunwerg range of cutlery is the Rivers Collection.

Inspired by the landscape of South Yorkshire which Grunwerg has called home for over 75 years, the new ‘Rivers Range’ of cutlery features 10 different collections all made from quality 18/10 stainless steel with a 3.5mm gauge.

The Rivers designs reflect the natural beauty of the babbling brooks, stunning streams and rolling rivers which form the main geographical features of Sheffield and their home county.

Included in the range are:

Sheaf – named after the River Sheaf which had a huge part to play in making Sheffield one of the first cities in the world to become an industrial powerhouse. Therefore it is designed to be a timeless classic which is comfortable in the hand and complements any table setting.

Barlow - a collection which is sure to turn heads. Reflecting the raw nature of the Barlow Brook which runs just past Grunwerg. Its hammered, high polished finish is reminiscent of light bouncing from water and rocks during the winter weather.

Rivelin - features a unique pentagon design to give the appearance of a faceted, industrial shape that represents strength and weight. With a namesake that powered the very first industrial forges of Sheffield its only right that our Rivelin collection feels powerful and strong to the touch.

Since 1948, I.Grunwerg Ltd have proudly manufactured knives and scissors in the heart of Sheffield, the steel city and centre of cutlery production in the UK.

Whilst the factory closed in the 1970’s the business moved to Rockingham Street, where it remained until 2019, designing and supplying cutlery and kitchen knives to the consumer market.

The use of the word “Forge” is a reference to our expertise in metalware manufacturing, spanning a number of generations.
