Horizon throw and cushion

Horizon throw and cushion

Description

Where sea and sky meet! The Horizon throw is named after the horizon line in the distance, and its characteristic colour gradient that changes from dark to light is the natural motif. The throw is available in 12 beautiful colour interpretations from a dusty green to a saturated ochre, and can of course be matched with matching cushions in the same pattern and colour scheme for a cohesive look in bed or sofa. Overall, the Horizon collection, with its fine play of colours and advanced pattern, is a result of the particularly refined craftsmanship in Peru and therefore encapsulates Elvang's DNA to a great extent.

Horizon is woven from a blend of recycled sheep and alpaca wool, and this special combination of fibres makes it light, durable and soft at the same time. The recycled wool is processed at our local supplier in Peru, which means that the wool comes from other productions and would otherwise be considered waste. By pulling the wool apart, the original fibres emerge and new yarn can be spun and woven into new textiles. In this way, Elvang helps to utilise already existing resources that, instead of being discarded, are given new life with us.

Elvang is fair trade certified at the highest possible level within the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) as Guaranteed Member. This guarantees that the throw is woven under responsible conditions for both the environment, humans and animals.

Carte Postale Throw

The Carte Postale collection is designed by Inga Sempé.

Carte Postale has a graphic pattern consisting only of dual-coloured surfaces that meet each other in the middle. The colours are clear, yet enigmatic; they run together like watercolours—a soft pink that fades into a bright red, or a blue that brightens more and more the closer it gets to the edge of the throw.

French designer Inga Sempé, was inspired by two images of a horizon: the first, a field right at the point where earth meets the sky, cutting the landscape in two, and the second, the point where sea and sky merge. Memories like these gave Sempé the idea for the abstract motif that has become the essence of her collection for Elvang. It has been very appropriately named Carte Postale, which means postcard in French, because its nature and landscape motifs are evocative of old-fashioned holiday postcards received in the mail.
