Design
Every year, Ambiente honours an up-and-coming design talent as Ambiente Designer of the Year. With "The Lounge", Elena Salmistraro is designing a special presentation for Ambiente 2024 that forms a thematic interface between HoReCa and interior design. For the first time, Ambiente is also creating space for an intensive and direct exchange between designers, exhibitors and visitors with the Designer Community and offering a customised programme.
Academies at Ambiente
Take a look into the future at the individual academies at Ambiente: at lectures by renowned experts on the development of the consumer goods industry, the office of tomorrow, international trends in hospitality and many other exciting topics.
Future of Work
What will the office of the future look like? The Future of Work area shows suppliers and solutions for the working world of tomorrow. With the Sustainable Office Day conference and the Future of Work Academy lecture programme, sustainability in the office industry will be a top topic. The highlight for architects, interior designers, office planners and fitters as well as facility managers.
Ethical Style Spots
With the Ethical Style spots, Ambiente focuses on sustainability. At the two special presentations, trade visitors will find theme islands with exhibitor products. The focus is always on the aspect of diversity in sustainability, which is implemented and shown by small companies as well as top brands in the sector.
Ms. Paper & Friends
The special presentation "Ms. Paper & Friends" imaginatively stages the theme of paper and the ranges that can be combined with it and thus provides the template for special sensual and emotional shopping experiences. The area shows how this can be achieved with haptic impressions by means of various theme worlds. Here, products from the Urban Gifts & Stationery section of Ambiente will be presented, such as decorative accessories, writing and office articles, greetings cards and postcards, notebooks, calendars and wrapping paper.
Solutions
Which innovations offer tangible benefits to the consumer? Curator Sebastian Bergne selects particularly practical ideas for ‘Solutions’. Products from creative newcomers as well as from well-known companies will be on display.
Talents
The young bloods are on the march. So what drives them? What is their creative bedrock and what innovative inspirations are they capable of? Upcoming designers making their way in the market will be showcasing their products for the Living segment at the Talents areas.
Plagiarius
At Ambiente the negative ‘Plagiarius’ award is given to manufacturers and resellers of particularly flagrant counterfeit products. The accompanying exhibition aims to raise awareness of product development and brand protection.
German Design Award
The German Design Council's Premium Prize honours internationally pioneering products, manufacturers and designers. The award ceremony will take place at the parallel to Ambiente.
Hesse State Prize
The Hesse State Prize for German Arts and Crafts is one of the most important awards that artisans in Germany can receive and is intended to provide an incentive for particularly creative achievements. It was established in 1951 as the first state prize in Germany at the suggestion of Kunsthandwerk Hessen e.V. by the former Prime Minister of Hesse, Georg August Zinn. Accompanying the award ceremony, an exhibition of the winners' works will be shown during Ambiente.
Kitchen Innovation Award
In a special presentation you can discover all the prizewinning products from this prestigious award. After a shortlist has been chosen by a panel of experts, consumers vote here for the best new development of the year in various categories, e.g. functionality and design.
NEW: „In Serie… !“ A university project of the HBKsaar
The university project focuses on the reinterpretation of standardised processes through the development of creative design approaches. In this creative process of the design students, the boundaries between industry and craft are first reconsidered and then transformed into sustainable products. The small series created by the students are surprising in their diversity and respond innovatively to the pressing issues of our time. Selected products from the university project will be exhibited at Ambiente.
