The focus is on material health – an approach that brings together design, research and sustainable production. In the online event At the Table with Nature, experts Leila Behjat and Alison Mears will demonstrate how healthy and sustainable materials are being developed today. The event is aimed particularly at interior designers, designers, product developers, and decision-makers from industry and retail with a strong focus on sustainable materials and future-forward design. Leila Behjat, co-founder of Healthy Materials Lab EU, will highlight the connection between research, sensory experience and indigenous knowledge, illustrating how material health can be rethought. Alison Mears, Associate Professor at Parsons School of Design in New York City and also co-founder of Healthy Materials Lab, will complement this with perspectives from architecture and international design practice.
The online event is part of the Digital Academy of the consumer goods fairs. With this format, Messe Frankfurt provides a platform for industry knowledge, inspiration and international exchange – free of charge and digital.
