MASTER CUTLERY CORPORATION is a company handling professional quality knives and accessories. MASTER CUTLERY has introduced Kitchen Knives under the brand name of “GLOBAL” for the first time in the world wide market by exhibiting in AMBIENTE since 1988 and widened “GLOBAL” brand ever since.
PROFILE OF MR. GLOBAL, FOUNDER OF MASTER CUTLERY
MASTER CUTLERY CORPORATION was founded in 1985 by Mr. Minoru Tsuchida, MR. GLOBAL.
Between 1966 and 1985, he was employed in the Export Sales Department of Seki Cutlery Manufacturing Company, who manufactured and exported many kinds of cutlery, kitchen knives and houseware items. During that period, one of the main customers was I Grunwerg Limited U.K.and he was personally in charge of this business from 1968 until he left the company in 1985.
At that time, he was doing a lot of business with IKEA, Sweden helping them to source a number of unique and design orientated products from Japan. This was taking up more and more of his time and he decided to resign from Seki Cutlery Manufacturing Company and set up his own trading company, MASTER CUTLERY CORPORATION in 1985.
As well as good customers and relations with all around the world, he became well-known in a main cutlery industry in Japan and was approached by one good friends, the president of YOSHIKIN, who had just developed a brand new concept kitchen knife, with the help of a local designer, KOMIN YAMADA, based on their technical ability to manufacture knives with hollow, stainless steel handles. YOSHIKIN passed onto him the very first samples of GLOBAL knives, comprising items of G-1 to G-7 and GS-1 to GS-5, which he then introduced to customers and prospects around the world at AMBIENTE fair in Frankfurt and TENDENCE.
This was the start of his business in GLOBAL knives in 1987. By 1988, he had picked up distributors in Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and the UK, exporting the grand total of 5,000 unites to these countries. The next year, he added USA, France and Denmark and had more than doubled this output. In 1990, he started exporting to Canada, Spain, Australia and Sweden and took his sales to almost 20,000 units per year. Now, in 2017, the factory productivity has been fully occupied for several months and his company is exporting to 90 countries around the world.
