The glassmakers
The Glass School in Zwiesel was founded in 1904, making it one of the first glass schools in Germany. Currently we comprehensively educate or further train around 300 students. In 1957 the teaching- and try-out hotshop was opened.
Since this year the headmasters Max Gangkofner, Bernhard Schagemann, Hans Wudy and Gunther Fruth have shaped the face of our glassworks. We produce high quality glass objects on the topics LIVING, GIVING and DINING and our assortment is presented on international fairs and distributed by galleries.
In addition to this production young people receive a sound school education in the trade of glassmaking in our manufactory. We dedicate our competence and our commitment to preserving and further developing traditional as well as contemporary glass making techniques and we therefore support the preservation of an extremely valuable cultural heritage in the creative craft sector. Manufactured in small numbers by experienced master glassmakers our works are characterized by high quality craftsmanship and their unique and extraordinary decoration techniques.
