The Chinkin collection is made up of fountain pens which use “Chinkin (Gold Inlay)”, one of lacquer were techniques that Japan proud to the world on equally famous Maki-e. Motifs are carved into the lacquered surface with special chisels, and after inlaying lacquer in to grooves, placing gold leaves and gold powder gives the pattern expression. The delicate and fine representation and 3D aspect overflowing with a strong power of expression are the special characteristic of this collection. Since Chinkin is a carving technique, there is no room for mistakes. Every single carve is a true challenge in the sense of the word.

Mechanical pencils are frequently used because they are reliable, erasable, cheaply refilled and therefore a very sustainable product. Fine lead pencils can be used for drafting, sketching and drawing or writing quick notes. Many illustrators are using mechanical pencils for drafting their art before finishing it with ink. 100% hand turned ebonite body when apply around 20 layers of Urushi and gold leaf. Start with layers of black Urushi then apply gold leaf. Repeat these steps many times to get this very in depth and deep technique. The process for each pen takes a very long time. But the end of result is amazing!
