URUSHI is an object of exception in the fine writing range. Made of Ebonite, coated with Urushi lacquer and fitted with an 14 or 18 carat gold nib. In imperial Japan, objects made using the maki-e technique were highly prized by royal families. Today, this lacquer technique is still used for precious objects, including fountain pens.
