The Weizenkorn Foundation is a social enterprise where mainly young men and women with special needs work. They experience acceptance and appreciation through meaningful work. More than 300 are employed or trained in a sheltered workplace. Weizenkorn is characterized by the diversity of its activities, its high quality standards and its professionalism. In the production, sales, finance, catering, hotel, bakery and carpentry departments, employees are supported and supervised by internal social services and 80 team members. The goal of the support work is to strengthen existing skills and improve employability in the private sector. Employees with support needs have the opportunity to change jobs within the Weizenkorn Foundation. This ensures that their strengths and needs are taken into account. In addition to social sustainability, which is a natural part of Weizenkorn's business policy, resource sustainability is an equally important issue. Most of the materials used are made from natural raw materials such as wood, high-quality kerosene, cotton wicks, etc. When selecting suppliers, care is taken to ensure that they come from Switzerland or nearby European countries wherever possible.
