For more than 100 years, the family-owned company Steba has been producing household appliances “Made in Germany”. In 1919, the brothers Steinberger founded the “Electric Cooking and Heating Apparatus Bamberg” under the trademark “Steba”. Everything that makes everyday kitchen life easier, such as kettles, toasters, hotplates or irons have been developed and manufactured by Steba since 1919. A certificate of the BLGA Nuremberg from the year 1924 confirms for the self-made radiators an “exquisite” quality, which was not exceeded by any company known to the Bavarian state trade institution until that time. Since the mid-1930s, the Steba brand, now headed by the Müller family, has become increasingly established on the market with the right feel for technical innovations and trend-setting ideas.
Until 1950, conventional metalworking has been the focus of daily work. So, urgently needed everyday objects, such as pots or shoe fittings, have been produced. The agricultural food steamer produced since the 1920's, had its heyday and was used a lot in agriculture. Nevertheless, the company never lost the incentive to produce innovative and qualitative appliances for the modern household. In 1955, the extensive product range was presented at the Hannover Fair for the first time. This was the basis for developing and manufacturing household appliances for well-known companies in the industry from 1970 onwards. Thus, one quickly reached the capacity limits in Bamberg city center and moved the newly built company and production buildings in the district in 1973.
Starting with agricultural food steamers, as well as household irons, toasters and kettles in the 20s to 50s, Steba today, stands for a broad and modern product range with its strategic product categories of sous-vide cookers, electric BBQs, fryers, baking ovens and much more. At that time, as well as today, some articles are produced by long-standing and quality-conscious employees in our factory in Strullendorf near Bamberg and are exported to more than 45 countries worldwide. Steba has developed into a leading company for electric BBQs, sous-vide cookers and raclettes and today stands for high quality standards and service through its “Made in Germany” production. So, in 100 years Steba has become what it is today.
