We, (Melissa and Melissa), the founders of Melii, met in our early 20s in grad school. We knew we wanted to start a company but at the time didn’t know what it would be. Fast forward 10+ years of working as executives in finance and accounting, with 6 children between us, we decided to launch a company focused on practical, high-quality food storage products for kids & adults—Melii.
As busy moms and professionals, we were constantly searching for storage solutions that made it easier to pack meals, snacks, and leftovers for our families. We wanted products that were not only functional but also appealing and durable enough to handle the demands of everyday life. We quickly realized that the market lacked enough options for safe, versatile, stylish lunch containers and bento boxes that appealed to both kids and adults.
From our own experiences, we learned that having the right food storage containers can make a world of difference. Fun, organized, and thoughtfully designed containers can encourage kids to enjoy their meals and make lunchtime easier for parents. For adults, it’s all about finding the perfect balance of practicality and style—whether it’s packing a nutritious lunch for work or storing leftovers at home.
