In Italy, as far back as the 1930s, every family had a little farm and women loved preparing homemade dishes as pasta, made with fresh eggs and freshly grounded flour obtained from their field’s wheat. To facilitate the process of pasta making, Otello Marcato, the founder of Marcato company, manufactured his first pasta machine with the few tools he had. The machine was cutting edge for that period, so he went around the neighbourhood on his bicycle to sell his invention. This is how it all began.
Today the production is still carried out in the same little town near Padua, in Italy. Also the mission has remained the same over time: enjoying the pleasure of homemade cooking, by preparing dishes of your own tradition using fresh healthy ingredients. This is not only intended as a food model, but as an actual lifestyle to share with the people you love.
In more than 90 years Marcato S.p.A. has become leader in the production of machines and accessories for fresh pasta, biscuits, bread and pizza, exporting its products to over 80 countries around the world. On the strength of a consolidated experience, the company in 2023 expanded its horizons also to the HoReCa market by acquiring Vicentia, a firm that can boast 30 years of expertise in the production of professional pasta machines.
