The idea of the trade fair is easy to explain: It aims to network supply and demand in a central location and within a specific timeframe. If 10 exhibitors meet 100 traders, then nothing else is needed. But things are more complicated at Ambiente. Last time 4,460 exhibitors from 94 countries met with 141,000 trade visitors from 154 nations. Its total exhibition space is the equivalent of more than five times the size of the Louvre in Paris.
To help trade visitors with their trend scouting, networking and ordering, Ambiente provides a whole range of efficient services. Visitors can obtain their tickets on the web, find suitable exhibitors through an online search engine and plan their time at the tradeshow with an interactive site map. The Ambiente app, the relevant pages on Facebook and Twitter and the Ambiente Newsletter are valuable sources of tips and ideas. Visitors can charge their smartphones at the exhibition centre itself, which has numerous “E-bars”, and the entire centre has various cafés and restaurants where they can charge up their bodies with food and drinks. Vegans will particularly enjoy the Sky restaurant in Hall 4.
Up to date
If anyone wants to keep up to date on news and highlights, they can even use two digital tools. Throughout the year the Ambiente Blog offers reports on trends, styles and personalities as well as plenty of inspiration and good ideas, while the Ambiente Newsletter proactively delivers messages to subscribers.
Planning made easy
Anyone wanting to use their time at Ambiente as efficiently as possible may want to familiarise themselves with innovative exhibitors and product groups before the actual tradeshow, via an online search engine. It gives them exhibitors’ profiles, details of innovative products and also some photographic material to get them started. Many valuable details can be found via the Ambiente Special Interest Search. It helps them find specific exhibitors that have some relationship with the Netherlands (this year’s partner country), contract business, the sphere of hotels, restaurants and cafés or ethical style. A personalised list of favourites can be created, allowing users to remember relevant companies and products with a few clicks or taps.
Events at Ambiente
The Ambiente Calendar of Events presents all highlights and the support programme at a glance. It also offers the option of compiling one’s own programme for Ambiente.
As well as charging points for mobile phones, Messe Frankfurt offers some exclusive electric parking spaces at Ambiente. These are situated at the Rebstock multi-storey car park. Spaces can be conveniently reserved ahead of the event, via email@example.com.
20 per cent discount and free travelling to and from the exhibition centre (using direct routes on Frankfurt’s local transport system - RMV) are available to Ambiente visitors when purchasing an online ticket. Such tickets can either be printed out in the usual way or stored on the holder’s smartphone.
To help Ambiente visitors focus on trends, contacts and ordering, Messe Frankfurt takes some of the burden off their shoulders with its bag shuttle, situated next to the cloakroom at the Torhaus entrance. Visitors are welcome to drop their luggage there and have it sent it to a hotel, office or private address against payment of the fee while still at the tradeshow.
The Gate-to-Door and Door-to-Gate service is available for up to 5 persons, offering relaxed limousine transfers between the airport and the exhibition centre. The service can be booked up to 24 hours in advance, costing EUR 169. One special feature is that check-in and baggage drop-off, too, are handled by service staff.
Ambiente will be held from 9 to 13 February 2018. The opening times are: Friday to Monday: 9:00 to 18:00 hrs and Tuesday 9:00 to 17:00 hrs.
