Events: Coffee Olympics

Ambiente the venue for the Spring Championships of the SCAE for the second time.

Not only is everyone talking about coffee, they are drinking it, too: from café latte and espresso to the numerous aromatic variations that are available in innumerable coffee houses around the world. Processing and making coffee – from roasting the beans to steaming the milk – has developed into an art form and, every year, veritable masters of the art compete against each other in the SCAE Championships.

From 8 to 11 February 2008, the foremost coffee-making experts will meet and compete in Frankfurt. Ambiente visitors have the unique opportunity to look over the shoulders of Germany's best baristas as they prepare their creations, and to discover the characteristics of really first-class coffee.

In 'Europe' Hall of Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre, you can watch the following competitions of the SCAE Coffee Olympiad 2008:

3rd German Coffee Roasting Championship
9 to 11 February 2008
4th German Latte Art Contest
9 February 2008
3rd German Coffee & Spirit Competition
8 February 2008
4th German Cup Tasting Contest
11 February 2008

From 8 to 10 February, you have the chance to take part in seminars and workshops revolving around the subject of coffee. You will find further information and a registration facility online under Seminare at: http://www.kaffeeolympiade.de

The individual contests and seminars will be held throughout Ambiente. The highlight is the awards ceremony on the last day of the fair.
