What will the consumer goods of tomorrow look like? Which designs will be popular? The trend experts from the renowned bora.herke.palmisano design studio show the answers. The colours, shapes and materials as well as international developments in product design, fashion, architecture and art are brought together in a number of "trend worlds" and displayed in a special presentation. Accompanying slide shows with subsequent guided tours give greater depth to the findings and specific examples make future designs tangible. Several hundred products from the latest collections of Ambiente exhibitors have been selected for this widely respected special presentation.

Messages with news value generally attract the most attention. At the same time, the most convincing products of tomorrow are often further developments of tried-and-tested ones. A great deal of creativity, eagerness to experiment, intelligence and flair have gone into giving these wholly new relevance. The high demands placed by an ever greater number of designers, manufacturers and consumers on contemporary consumer goods supply the context. The search for meaning and value, for environmental and social sustainability, as well as materials and manufacturing processes to match, leads to surprising yet fully convincing solutions. How, for example, the dividing line between indoor and outdoor is being effaced and how these tendencies are driving developments in the consumer goods sector form the subject of the Ambiente Trends 2016 documented in a major installation at the trade fair in Frankfurt.
